How we publish
Editorial policy
Zen Kitchen publishes researched guides and practical planning aids for home kitchens. Our organizational byline is Zen Kitchen Editorial. These articles help you ask better questions about the space, tools, and routines you use.
Sources and evidence
Factual claims should link to the material supporting them. We prefer government guidance, published research, product instructions, and accessible test reports. Manufacturer specifications are evidence of what a manufacturer states, not independent confirmation of performance or safety. A source list provides context; it does not make every sentence in an article a research finding.
Access dates identify when a reference was reviewed. They are separate from its publication date. Product prices, availability, warranty terms, and specifications can change; check the exact item and current instructions. A report about one sample, coating, or model should not be generalized to a whole brand.
Researched evaluations and hands-on testing
There are no documented hands-on product trials supporting the cookware evaluations currently published here. They compare published information and explain ownership tradeoffs. We do not give numerical safety ratings or describe another publisher's tests as our own.
If we publish an original trial in the future, its article must identify the tester, product, dates, procedure, observations, and limitations. An opinion, manufacturer claim, and measured result are different kinds of information and should be labeled accordingly.
Worksheets and illustrative examples
The Calm Kitchen Index, practice plans, and room worksheets are editorial planning aids. They are not validated scientific instruments, medical treatments, or measurements from client projects. Hypothetical layouts and budgets show how to make a decision; your measurements, equipment, and local requirements take priority.
AI assistance and illustrations
AI tools assist with research, drafting, and some images. AI output is not a source of factual evidence. An illustration depicts an idea, not proof that a product was tested or a renovation was completed. Known AI-generated illustrations are labeled in their captions.
Affiliate links
Articles containing monetized links carry an article-level disclosure. If you purchase through an affiliate link, Zen Kitchen may earn a commission without an additional charge to you. Ordinary source references are not automatically affiliate links. Paid or sponsored relationships must be disclosed; they do not substitute for evidence.
Updates
The article header shows its publication date and, when applicable, its last substantive revision. Dates change when the content changes, not simply when the site is rebuilt. Cookware and buying guides need periodic checks of their sources, claims, and product details.
Corrections
When an error is identified, we check it against the supporting material, correct the article, and update the revision date. Significant changes to a conclusion should include a note explaining the correction. Statements about product safety and health require particularly careful attribution and should communicate the limits of the evidence.
On October 12, 2026, the cookware evaluations were revised to remove unsupported claims of original testing and numerical safety scores. Several practical guides were also revised to distinguish illustrative examples from real projects.
